Small Group

"You can't defeat persistent sins by yourself. If you could have, you would have. God wired us to need each other. We heal in community."
--Rick Warren

Well said. That is why we believe in small groups! Brandon and I have been beyond blessed by our small groups over the years, and through them the Lord is continually transforming our marriage. Because of this, we really have a heart for marriages. Because it is our strongest earthly bond, Satan is working overtime to steal, kill, and destroy [John 10:10] these precious unions. That's why we love growing each week with married couples of all ages and even engaged ones! We often throw around the phrase "get plugged in," but there is such truth to this. There is power like no other when we are plugged in to other believers!

Last semester we co-lead Love and Respect with our great friends the Chandlers. While working to grow our marriages, our group experienced four births, two weddings, the passing of a precious miracle baby, and a long distance move, just to name a few things. We prayed, discussed, learned, cried, laughed, shared, mourned, encouraged, rejoiced. Together!

Here we are helping one of our families move.
What a fun day of serving, but it was sad to see them go!

Now this semester we have a fun new bunch of couples (and thankfully some old ones too :), but this time we are leading Experiencing God's Dream for Your Marriage. So far it too has been amazing! We have found a format that works great with so many of our busy schedules--a Friday night "date night" with dessert. Because what is small group without dessert?! It is such a great way to start the weekend and really sets the tone for the way we spend the rest of it. We look forward to spending the rest of the semester doing life together!
